Do I need to switch my practice management software?
No. Cuspid is a layer on top of your existing PMS — Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, or whatever you use. It handles the operational side: room status, lab tracking, task management, and team coordination. Your PMS handles charting and billing. They complement each other.
What does Cuspid replace?
The patchwork of tools dental offices use to manage operations — room status boards, spreadsheets for lab case tracking, sticky notes for tasks and voicemails, paper binders for compliance docs, referral tracking spreadsheets, and group texts for team communication. Cuspid puts all of it in one place.
Does Cuspid help with state sterilization compliance requirements?
Yes. Cuspid logs every sterilization cycle, tracks weekly biological indicators (spore tests), captures matching control results, and generates an audit-ready PDF whenever your state dental board asks. Rules vary state-by-state: California requires 12-month retention, Washington requires 5 years, Florida uses a 40-hour-of-use cadence, and Indiana requires a fresh test before any use after the sterilizer has been idle.
How hard is this for my staff to learn?

What does the setup process look like?

Does Cuspid integrate with my PMS directly?
Not yet — direct PMS integrations are on our roadmap. Today, Cuspid works as a standalone operational layer. Most teams find the manual entry minimal since Cuspid handles workflows your PMS doesn't track at all.
How does the room status system work?
You configure your rooms (operatories, consult rooms, X-ray, etc.) and your team changes statuses with one tap. Everyone sees updates in real time — with browser notifications, audio alerts, and a persistent status strip across every page. You can also mount a screen in the hallway using Wall Display Mode for a full-screen, auto-updating status board.
